01 / A living world

Before the legend,
there is life.

Mountain traders arrive with their yaks. Fishermen bring their catch upriver. In the capital, people and their animal companions, the skibiris, gather for the spring festival. Drawing on Nordic and Asian mythologies, Emolina begins with the lives that fill its streets, forests and waterways.

01 / Emolina

Secrets beneath the city.

Above ground, the capital prepares for the spring festival and King Urbanus’s sixtieth birthday. Below, ancient machines rest in the vaults. Here, Ihanus and Avalina overhear a secret that turns the celebration into a race to save the king.

02 / Monsi

The road from the mountains.

Pohli sets out from the Monsi mountains with a yak laden with goods for the festival. When wolves close in along the road, quick thinking keeps him alive. The resourcefulness he brings from home will soon matter to more than his own journey.

03 / Piskator

A home carried upriver.

In the coastal town of Piskator, Ihanus loads seafood onto riverboats bound for the capital. The festival means trade for the fishermen. For him, it means seeing Ava again, the girl he knew before a shipwreck carried her into another life.

04 / Venator

Stories around the fire.

In the forests of Venator, hunters share the warmth of a fire while their tamed wolves rest nearby. As the long winter approaches, these bonds between people and animals help sustain forest life. Soon, a stolen machine will bring a very different kind of darkness to the village.

05 / Piskator Sea

One storm. Two lives apart.

Ava and Ihanus are caught in a storm when their fishing boat strikes the shoals. Separated in the wreck, they emerge into different worlds. Ava is found on the shore by King Urbanus and taken to the royal court. Ihanus remains tied to the sea and the friend he has lost.

02 / The first story

The Star
Eater.

A friendship broken by the sea.
A secret beneath the palace.

After a shipwreck, Ava is adopted by the royal family and becomes Princess Avalina. Her childhood friend Ihanus returns to the capital for the spring festival. Beneath the celebrations, their reunion uncovers a plot against the king.

Told through Ihanus’s eyes, the story brings Avalina together with mountain trader Pohli and quick-witted Samel. As the four friends search for a way out, a stolen machine of unknown origin stirs in the forest. The Star Eater was meant to conceal a village. Its awakening sets other ancient machines in motion.

The king and adoptive father

05 / The creative foundation

A story taking shape.
A world already visible.

Tales from Emolina is an original fantasy IP created by Kari Piirainen for teen and adult audiences. Its existing story and visual material provide a starting point for the next phase of development.

01

The first story treatment

Complete. A narrative foundation for discussing the first adaptation and its development needs.

02

A shared visual world

Maps, six character studies, environments and illustrated lore establish places and people to build upon.

03

A first look in motion

A moving introduction to Emolina. Watch the trailer and a short glimpse into its world.

06 / For development partners

One world.
A next chapter to choose.

The first adaptation will be shaped with a development partner. A game, television series and microdrama offer different ways into the same world. The next step is to choose the right first project together.

01 / INTERACTIVE

A game

From the palace vaults to a forest village, the treatment offers places to explore, mysterious machines to discover and four young friends with different strengths.

The development questionWhat is the core player experience? What focused prototype would demonstrate it?

02 / EPISODIC

A television series

A shipwreck, a reunion and a conspiracy at the spring festival give the first treatment a sequence of personal and political turning points to adapt.

The development questionHow should the story unfold across episodes, and which production approach serves it?

03 / SHORT FORM

A microdrama

A princess caught between two lives. Friends who overhear a deadly secret. These intimate conflicts could provide a focused starting point for short episodes.

The development questionWhich part of the story works in short episodes? What would a pilot need to establish?

Choose the format → Define the scope → Build the development plan

Budget follows the selected format and production scope.
